Preferred suppliers to Wairongoa Springs

Wairongoa Springs was in a poor state when it was taken over by the new owner, this 9.6 ha North Taieri property has appointed Southerly’s to guide the rejuvenation of it’s dynamic elements into a thriving and rewarding space.

The property is subject to a Queen Elizabeth II Open Space Covenant (QE II Trust) and boasts a mineral water spring that once held international acclaim, and enjoys a mature homestead designed by architects Mason and Wales. The spring is surrounded by an exotic arboretum planted by the Thompsons, who also used the spring to support their lemonade and cordial brand. The balance is farmland which is now adopting chemical free, age old farming principals to regenerate soils and pastures.

Southerly’s discovered previous alterations and additions to the home had not been granted code of compliance. In addition, Southerly’s provided advice on better ways to improve the home and properties performance and comfort. The arboretum and amenities supporting the springs also require substantial work. Southerly’s are managing professionals from Otago University, the Dunedin City Council and the QE II Trust, and others to identify and protect natural and built assets, while making improvements within the QE II covenants, and acknowledging the preserving the heritage of this historically and naturally important place.

Southerly’s work here will be ongoing in providing consultancy, sourcing and implementing the relative skill sets to see the work accomplished within the programmed scope, brief and relevant legislation that holds this property dear to New Zealand.
